The College is dedicated to excellence in the specialized practice of construction law, and is comprised of construction lawyers in Canada who are distinguished for their skill, experience and high standards of professional and ethical conduct in the practice or teaching of construction law. The College, through Carswell, also publishes the Journal of the Canadian College of Construction Lawyers.
The College has established and administers the J. Stephen Tatrallyay Memorial Prize ($1,500) given in respect of academic student publishable papers on any current issue of interest to construction law practitioners and topical to the practice of construction law in Canada. The criteria for award of the prize are described in the attached information sheet. The College will select the successful paper in its discretion. The winner will be considered for publication in the Journal of the Canadian College of Construction Lawyers. Students who have submitted a paper but do not win the monetary prize may still be offered the opportunity to have their paper published in this Journal.
In light of the diverse areas that are touched by construction and engineering, we expect that this opportunity may be of interest not only to construction law students (if applicable) but also to those studying contract law, insurance law, intellectual property law, mining law, aboriginal law, international law, municipal law, environmental law, insolvency law and engineering law.
